Water Rail (Rascón Europeo / Rallus aquaticus).

Secretive but not uncommon in suitable habitat which can be found in areas 2, 3, 6 and 9.

A very rare bird on passage and over the winter, one bird wintered on a pool in area 3 and two birds on the Arroyo Vilano during their passage north.

Common, even on small patches of water with a bit of cover.

A rare bird that sometimes shows up at the Contra-embalse de Bermijalis in area 6 and on the Pantano at Alhama de Granada in area 9.
