Area Seven, UF9090.
The only urban features in this area are Zafarraya and just the out skirts of Venta de Zafarraya, most of which is in area eight. The Northern half of this square is dominated by Limestone uplands, Broom and herb scrub and Olives. The A-341 which runs from Loja down the western side of the Sierra to Zafarraya enters the area in the North West corner and exits in the South East and cuts the square in to two almost equal triangles. A part of the Southern half of the square lies with in the Province of Malaga and is not covered here with the Sierra de Alhama forming part of this border. Along this road there are some very good areas of Oak woodlands which are the ideal habitat for a great number of this regions Orchids. Around the two towns mentioned above the land is very intensively farmed, some areas are covered by plastic greenhouses but these are few thankfully. Many small depositos (small irrigation pools) are dotted between the fields and there are also hundreds of small farm sheds and houses scattered about.
